Red Wine Antioxidants

Have you ever wondered why do French people have the least amount heart attacks even when they consume high-fat diet? According to some experts, consumption of red wine along with the food helps in keeping numerous health problems at bay. However, red wine is most beneficial when had in moderate amount; excessive consumption of red wine has a detrimental effect.

Red wine has a very high content of antioxidants, before we go into the benefits of antioxidants on our health, we should warn you that high intake of red wine is dangerous and people who are regular when it comes to red wine consumption should curtail their dosage to a couple of glasses every day.

Antioxidants and Red Wine

If you have always been prone to diseases easily then you might be well aware that your immune system isn’t as strong as most other people, antioxidants play a vital role in strengthening ones immune system, which helps you stay away from various diseases and also fight diseases easily.

Some of the very common diseases that have been well dealt by the antioxidants present in red wine.

Cancer Prevention: Almost everybody is aware of various forms of cancer. The disease is not only lethal but it is also life-threatening. In red wine there exists an antioxidant known as resveratrol. These powerful antioxidants play a very important role in preventing DNA mutation, which might lead to cancer.

Heart Diseases: Again the powerful antioxidant plays a very important role in the preventing heart diseases from happening. What does an antioxidant do here? It acts very simply and its blood thinning capability does not allow blood clots to form. Hence, this results in avoiding huge number of heart diseases. Moreover, resveratrol lowers the level of LDL (low density lipoprotein) in blood, which in turn prevents the buildup of plaque in artery.

These were probably one of the biggest threat that human mankind faces during their lives. However, the good amount of antioxidant composition in red wine helps in fighting these threats without much of a trouble. Again, we need to state that alcohol consumption has to be limited and men cannot afford to drink more than two glasses of red wine and women should try and satisfy themselves with a single glass of red wine daily.
